Quote:Frances finds a handbag on the New York subway and promptly returns it to Greta, an eccentric French piano teacher who loves tea and classical music. Having recently lost her mother, young Frances strikes up a seemingly harmless friendship with the lonely and kindly widow who enjoys her company. But when Greta's behavior becomes increasingly erratic and obsessive, Frances does whatever it takes to end the toxic relationship before things spirals out of control.

I had a good time watching this. It felt like a throwback to '90s stalker thrillers, complete with a gloriously campy and over-the-top villainess who needs little explanation for her actions beyond "she's crazy". The writing was pretty shallow, but the two lead actresses, Isabelle Huppert as the stalker and Chloe Grace Moretz as her victim, both sold this film and elevated it above what could've been just cheap trash; sure, they're both playing to their types, but there's a reason why they're both typecast in parts like these, and it's because they're good at it. Maika Monroe was also good, especially a great bit she gets towards the end. These sorts of thrillers have seemingly died out in recent years, and this probably won't bring them back, but it's still a fun trip down memory lane to a time before superheroes dominated the theater. I can see this getting a fair bit of play on Netflix.

I honestly beyond loved this omg. Isabelle Huppert and Maika Monroe (who I didn't even know was in this movie till her first scene) were easily my faves of the cast though I thought Chloe did a great job as well.

Nothing more fun or wild than a middle aged woman with an obsessive desire to have love, company, and the complete and utter control over anothers persons live tbh.
This movie was INSANE it was about as entertaining as I had hoped. Isabelle Huppert >>>>>>
Still haven't seen, but i want too!
