Better character? Taryn in Nightmare 3 or Tracy in Nightmare 6

Both female characters were in a hospital for children and had the darkest pre-Elm Street film issues; Taryn was a drug addict, Tracy was molested by her father. They were also the only female characters aside from Alice, Kristen, Nancy and Maggie who fought Freddy in a hand to hand combat.

But which character do you prefer? Taryn in Nightmare 3 or Tracy in Nightmare 6

Dead Set (2008)

Network: E4
1 season, 5 episodes

[Image: MV5BMTQ1NDgxMzM4Ml5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwNzA0...68_AL_.jpg]

Quote:Inspired, says creator Charlie Brooker, by the classic horror film Dawn of the Dead, this five-episode series chronicles a nightmare scenario in which Britain is taken over by zombies. No one is spared the wrath of the undead... except the contestants and production staff filming a season of Big Brother. As they're unaware of what's happening outside, the house becomes a safe haven. Then the doors open on eviction night and all hell breaks loose. Among the stars is Big Brother presenter Davina McCall, who plays herself (and her dead self).

Repo, Ken, and I were talking about screening this on Saturday. I've seen it before, back before anybody in the US had even heard of Black Mirror (this comes from the same creator), and it's a great sendup of reality TV, specifically the British version of Big Brother. Probably my favorite zombie TV show or miniseries ever made, up there with the first season of The Walking Dead.

  Escape Room (2019)

Escape Room (2019)

Rated PG-13 for terror/perilous action, violence, some suggestive material and language

Quote:Six adventurous strangers travel to a mysterious building to experience the escape room -- a game where players compete to solve a series of puzzles to win $10,000. What starts out as seemingly innocent fun soon turns into a living nightmare as the four men and two women discover each room is an elaborate trap that's part of a sadistic game of life or death.

This was... actually not bad? Okay, sure, the final act is completely ridiculous, and the story is pretty shallow, but the basic premise -- people trying to escape a series of lethal escape rooms -- works on the same level as a good Saw movie, albeit PG-13 with special effects instead of gore. It's dumb as hell, but it's still good popcorn entertainment, and a lot better than I feared it might be.

My full review is here.
