Christine Brown (Alison Lohman) has a loving boyfriend (Justin Long) and a great job at a Los Angeles bank. But her heavenly life becomes hellish when, in an effort to impress her boss, she denies an old woman's request for an extension on her home loan. In retaliation, the crone places a curse on Christine, threatening her soul with eternal damnation. Christine seeks a psychic's help to break the curse, but the price to save her soul may be more than she can pay.

We have a payload to deliver to the heart of our nearest star. We are delivering that payload cause that star is dying and, if it dies, we die, everything dies. So that is our mission, there is nothing, literally nothing, more important than completing our mission. End of story.

I'm glad the long wait paid off tbh. Now everything I've pushed you to retry/try have been completed.

Just rewatched this yesterday for the October horror challenge. Still love it as much as I did on my second watch, if not more. Alison >>>

Popcorn Frights screened this last Saturday for its tenth anniversary, complete with Justin Long doing a Q&A afterwards. I loved this movie when I first saw it, and I still love it now. This movie had more guts and bigger scares than any number of "extreme" R-rated torture porn flicks; it was just old-school Evil Dead-style B-movie frights with modern production values and a great cast. Alison Lohman reminded me of what it would be like if Kristen Bell played Ash Williams, and Justin Long was one of the better boyfriend characters I've seen in horror. Overall, I had a damn blast watching this again, and going by the size of the crowd that slowed up that night, I wasn't the only one.

My full review is here.
