#1
Of these slasher debuts, which classic is your all-time favorite and who is your favorite icon?

1. Halloween (1978)
2. Friday the 13th (1980)
3. Child's Play (1988)
4. A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
5. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
6. Scream (1996)

My personal ranking:

Scream (1996) > The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) > Friday the 13th (1980) > Halloween (1978) > A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) > Child's Play (1988)

Who is your all-time favorite icon? Mine: Michael Myers

It`s a survival thing. I made a lot of devil`s bargains and I stuck to them. As a result I live somewhat dangerously and quite comfortably. And my mother, who no longer recognizes me, has the best room in the clinic. I get up every morning, put on my game face and do what I have to.

ANOES or Scream. Very torn on which, but none of the rest come close.

Do you know what it`s like to be told how lucky you are to be someone`s prisoner?

Halloween, with Scream a close second and A Nightmare on Elm Street a close third; all three, IMO, are standout classics that we'd still be talking about even if they never had sequels. Same thing for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, though I found the first half of that film noticeably weaker than the second half. The original Friday the 13th wasn't even the best movie in its series.

Haven't seen the original Child's Play.

Halloween would definitely be third to me and is definitely another 10, but I find it a bit lacking compared to Scream or ANOES. For a start, Halloween never scared me (unlike Scream's opening and most of ANOES). I also think Scream and Nightmare boast much more compelling characters and stronger kills/suspense, on top of some truly ingenious and innovative concepts.

TCM is very strong too. The OG Child's Play is decent, but definitely overshadowed by quite a few of the sequels (the killer doll stuff works better played comedically). OG Friday is weak.

Black Christmas since you didn't mention it had to be a series tbh, and 3-4 of those films were inspired from it

We are all in strung-out shape, but stay frosty, and alert. We cannot afford to let one of those bastards in here.
