Rated R for horror violence/gore and language

Quote:After a virus turns most people into zombies, the world's surviving humans remain locked in an ongoing battle against the hungry undead. Four survivors -- Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) and his cohorts Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) -- abide by a list of survival rules and zombie-killing strategies as they make their way toward a rumored safe haven in Los Angeles.

So, this movie still holds up after ten years. It's nowhere near as smart as, say, Shaun of the Dead, but it did feel very much like a cousin to it, as well as a throwback to the high-concept, character-driven, jokes-over-plot comedies of the '80s (complete with a Bill Murray cameo), which is where it worked best IMO: in terms of building a cast of very fun and interesting characters and then dropping them into ridiculous situations, often involving the slaying of zombies. I'm surprised it took as long as it did to make a sequel.

My review of both Zombieland films is here.
