The Captive Curse is the 24th installment in the Nancy Drew point-and-click adventure game series by Her Interactive. Nancy’s off to Germany to investigate mysterious sightings of a creature that’s been terrorizing the community of a remote Bavarian castle. Local legend tells of a creature that marauded the area centuries ago, wreaking havoc and ultimately causing the death of a young woman before disappearing without a trace. Can you, as Nancy Drew, unmask the creature before you suffer the same terrible fate?

So either I`m making up a story for dramatic effect, or I`m the only one telling the truth in a room full of liars!

This game is a lot of fun but super challenging. I need to continue it tbh.

Late review, but this game is AWESOME. Love it. I'm actually not sure where to start:

The setting is amazing. Very fun to explore, appropriately spooky and atmospheric without quite hitting "scary" levels (which is perfect for this game's tone), and certainly memorable and interesting. The music is good too. These two things alone practically make the game, along with the zero-chores-only-investigating approach it takes. The puzzles themselves are appropriately fun and challenging without becoming too overwhelming (the only particularly annoying one is the Xylophone puzzle, not so much because it's too difficult, but because Nancy has to actually go back and look at all the notes before it works... including ones you already found. Have fun trying to realize you need to go back to them!). The characters are quite good as well for the most part... though the accents are not. I really love Anja, though, and Lukas is fun too. All around pretty strong cast. Story is good too; they do a nice balance between a fun, standard, well-executed Nancy Drew story with some appropriately deeper and darker themes for more mature players (I got a real sense of a "Humans can be the real monsters" narrative running throughout this entire game. And I really liked it). So yeah, lot's to recommend, and not much to dislike. Very underrated. It plays like a classic Nancy Drew game with a more modern setup. Best of both worlds really.
