Fun movie, albeit a flawed one. Still, I enjoyed it. Loved Zeke

We have a payload to deliver to the heart of our nearest star. We are delivering that payload cause that star is dying and, if it dies, we die, everything dies. So that is our mission, there is nothing, literally nothing, more important than completing our mission. End of story.

This is a classic of everything great about late '90s teen horror. It was one of the first horror movies I ever saw, and I still rewatch it semi-regularly. The cast they managed to put together for this was amazing, and that's just the people who were already famous at the time (Bebe Neuwirth, Robert Patrick, Salma Hayek, Famke Janssen, Piper Laurie); the number of this film's then-unknown actors who went on to become famous was staggering. Robert Rodriguez probably wasn't the best choice to convey the Invasion of the Body Snatchers-style paranoia of the premise, but his style and energy still kept this movie going very well. Even the special effects are surprisingly good for a horror movie made twenty years ago on a $15 million budget.

And on that note, given that this film's twentieth anniversary is coming up, I'd love to see it get the special edition DVD/Blu-ray release it never had. Get some interviews with Elijah Wood, Jordana Brewster, Josh Hartnett, Jon Stewart, and Usher now, and have them look back on the sci-fi horror film they made with Rodriguez all those years ago.

Of all the post-Scream horror movies, The Faculty is my personal favorite.

This movie is still a lot of fun and i love the 90s vibe. After reading the script i defo get the impression the epilogue was meant to be a twist ending with everyone possessed. Love Zeke, Stokley and Casey espec.

Oh, damn, that is something I never once thought about. If I were doing a remake of this, I would've kept virtually everything about the ending... and then combined it with the ending of the 1978 Invasion of the Body Snatchers remake. Because now that you bring up that idea, that sounds amazing.

I prefer a happier ending with the aliens dying overall, honestly, but it does at least explain the epilogue and that bullshit should’ve been cut or totally revamped. Lol.
